Markus Baur is the co-founder and CEO of Axon Active, an AI-first software development company. He grew up in Bern, Switzerland, and holds a Swiss Federal Diploma in Business Information Technology. He began his career as a software engineer at a Swiss bank, later becoming Head of Software Development, before running his own IT consultancy.

In 2008, Markus founded Axon Active in Vietnam and has grown the company to around 700 employees, providing software engineering services to clients worldwide, including Swiss Post, Die Mobiliar, TWINT, Helvetia, and several Swiss banks. From its early years, Axon Active has trained hundreds of engineering graduates, helping them become skilled technology professionals.

With more than 18 years of experience in Vietnam, Markus leads Axon Active's operations across Vietnam, Switzerland, and the US. He also serves on several non-executive boards and contributes to the development of the technology community.
